Metamorphosis, Incorporated fully endorses Oprah’s “No Phone Zone” pledge. No cell phone use or texting while driving. I signed today. I am #236913. Safety first. You are valuable and necessary!

My personal story about cell phone use and driving...  In 1999, a woman driving an Expedition totaled my Altima while my mother and aunt were driving. The woman was on her cell and ran the light and crashed into them. My mother was in the hospital for at least a week. At the scene of the accident, my mother, somehow, was able to look the woman in the eye and utter, "You hurt me". Wow, even writing those words today and remembering this still hurts me. I thank God they are alive, but the accident did lots of damage to them both. Please take a look at the video from Oprah and commit, sign, and comply today, www.oprah.com.

Metamorphosis Incorporated Celebrates

National Women's Health Week

May 6 - 12, 2012

National Women’s Health Week is a weeklong health observance coordinated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health (OWH). National Women’s Health Week empowers women to make their health a top priority. With the theme “It’s Your Time,” the nationwide initiative encourages women to take simple steps for a longer, healthier, and happier life. During National Women’s Health Week, communities, businesses, government, health organizations, and other groups work together to educate women about steps they can take to improve their physical and mental health and lower their risks of certain diseases. Important steps include:

  • Getting at least 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate physical activity, 1 hour and 15 minutes of vigorous physical activity, or a combination of both each week
  • Eating a nutritious diet
  • Visiting a health care professional to receive regular checkups and preventive screenings
  • Avoiding risky behaviors, such as smoking and not wearing a seatbelt
  • Paying attention to mental health, including getting enough sleep and managing stress
